Andy Knape

Andy Knape (born January 3, 1986 in Magdeburg ) is a German politician and member of the right-wing extremist NPD . Since 2008 he has been state chairman of the Young National Democrats (JN), the youth organization of the NPD, in Saxony-Anhalt . From October 2012 Knape was the national chairman of the NPD youth. As JN chairman, he was not a member of the NPD federal board by virtue of his office, as he was elected as an assessor in 2011. Since then, Knape has been responsible for the party's internal security service. He was also an employee of the NPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament .

Professional background

Knape has an advanced secondary school certificate and is a trained businessman . In 2009 he graduated from the Administration and Business Academy as an economist for human resource management (VWA). In the meantime, he worked as a branch and division manager in the retail sector, and from 2012 to 2014 he was employed by the Saxon parliamentary group of the NPD as a technical employee.

Political career

According to his own statements, he has been involved in so-called free national groups since 2000 . In 2006 he headed the local group, the so-called base of the JN in Magdeburg. Two years later he was promoted to chairman of his regional association.

In 2009 he joined the NPD and ran for city council in Magdeburg. The NPD received 2.01 percent of the vote and gained a seat. In the same year it was on the state list and as a nomination for the Altmark constituency for the 2009 Bundestag election and received 2.2 percent of the first votes. In 2011 he was also a candidate in the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2011 on the list at number 9 of the NPD.

In 2010 he was elected deputy federal chairman of the JN. A little later, a speech by him at a demonstration in Bad Nenndorf was cut short by the police on suspicion of glorifying the Waffen SS . In November 2011 he was elected as a member of the national executive committee at the national party congress of the NPD as a supporter of Holger Apfel . A year later, he replaced Michael Schäfer , who had been JN federal chairman for five years, at the head of the youth association.

As of September 2014, Knape was no longer a member of the National Board of the NPD and was chaired by the JN.
