Andy Koçoğlu (born April 15, 1992 in Malibu , California , United States ) is an American - Turkish ice hockey player who has been under contract with İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK in the Turkish Super League since 2013 . His brother Alec is also a Turkish international.

Career

Andy Koçoğlu, who was born to Turkish-Armenian parents in Malibu , California , began his career as an ice hockey player with junior teams in the western United States. In January 2012 he left his country of birth and moved to the Turkish Super League , where he was initially under contract with Başkent Yıldızları SK . With the club from Ankara he was Turkish national champion in 2012 and 2013 . Despite these successes, he moved from the capital to the Aegean coast in 2013 to İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK , where he has played since then.

International

In the Turkish national team , he was used for the first time at the 2014 World Cup in Division II. Despite a final 6: 4 success against China , his team had to accept relegation. He then played with the Turks in Division III in 2015 and 2016 .
