biography

Plank took part in FIS races for the first time in December 2004 and celebrated its first victory in January 2008. Since the 2008/09 season he has competed regularly in the European Cup , but this winter he was never among the top 30. The surprise was all the greater when in March 2009 he was twelve hundredths of a second ahead of his compatriot Dominik Paris junior world champion in the downhill. He was then allowed to start at the World Cup finals in Åre , but only achieved 25th and last place in the downhill.

In December 2009, Plank contested three more World Cup races in Italy, but did not get past 45th place. In the European Cup he won his first points after the turn of the year with eighth place in the first descent on Patscherkofel . In the speed disciplines, this was his best result of the season, but on March 3, 2010 he won the super combination of Sarntal / Reinswald with the best time in the slalom . After finishing eleventh on the next day in the second super combination, he achieved second place in the discipline classification in the 2009/10 season . In the 2010/11 season , Plank's best European Cup result was sixth place in Wengen's Super-G . In the World Cup he came to three more appearances, but was again without points. In the 2011/12 season he finished second in the Méribel Super-G for the second time on the podium in the European Cup , while he was not used in the 2012/13 World Cup.
