Andy Rautins (born November 2, 1986 in Syracuse , New York ) is a Canadian basketball player . He is the son of Leo Rautins and played for the New York Knicks NBA team until 2011 . He is also a US citizen but plays internationally for Canada. He is considered a good shooter from outside the three-point line .

career

Rautins attended college in Syracuse , for whose team he played. He was selected in the 2nd round of the 2010 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks and then took part in the 2010 World Cup. In the 2010/11 season Rauntins came on only five missions. After the season he was swapped for Tyson Chandler to the Dallas Mavericks and released after five days.

After spending the 2011/2012 season in Spain and playing for CB Lucentum Alicante, Rautins returned to the NBA during the 2012 summer break. He received a preliminary contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder . This was not extended and Rautins left the Thunder before the start of the season. He then moved to the NBA Development League (D-League) and received a contract with the Tulsa 66ers .

For the 2013/2014 season Rautins returned to Europe and joined the Fraport Skyliners from the German Beko BBL. There he received a contract until 2014, but due to an injury he was out for the second half of the season. Then Rautins moved to Italy to Pallacanestro Varese .
