Angelika Kühnen (* in Essen in the 1960s ) is a Dutch painter.

Life

Angelika Kühnen dealt with art during her training as a goldsmith. She then studied painting and art history in Zurich with Wolfgang Oppermann . As a guest student, she studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and Maastricht Art Academy . An Eutonie -Studies at Wolfgang Nestler in the Ludwig Forum for International Art Aachen, she deepened her education.

Since 1993 she has shared a studio with Hartmut Ritzerfeld , a master student of Joseph Beuys . She is a founding member of the "dreieck-triangle-driehoek", the support association of women working in culture in the Euregio Maas-Rhein eV and a founding member of the Federal Association of Visual Artists Aachen eV

For several years she was the curator of the Europäische Kunsthof in Vicht and Stolberg. Here she presented numerous exhibitions with pictures by Pablo Picasso , Salvador Dali , Joan Miro , Gerhard Richter , Jörg Immendorff , Karl Otto Götz , Georges Braque and Lovis Corinth .

In 2002 the Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow awarded her an honorary professorship for her services to German-Russian cultural exchange.

Angelika Kühnen is an active animal rights activist and was honored with the Aachen Peace Prize for her commitment against racism.
