The Angerstein is a 2100 m above sea level. A. high mountain at the northwest end of the Gosaukamm in the Dachstein Mountains on the border between the Austrian states of Upper Austria and Salzburg .
The main summit is preceded by the 2080 m high south summit. The Angerstein can be reached from the mountain station of the Gosaukammbahn , the Gablonzer Hütte , the Stuhlalm or the Theodor-Körner-Hütte , the normal route leads over the northwest flank ( I + ).
Ludwig Purtscheller made his first tourist ascent on October 28, 1888 through the eastern flank (I +).
