Angeschissen was a hamburger punk band that existed from 1984 to 1988. Alongside Slime, they are one of the most influential and style-defining bands of Hamburg punk rock in the 1980s.
history
Christian Mevs had been the guitarist of the band Slime from 1980 until their first breakup , where he had played with Stephan Mahler; the latter was also the drummer of Torpedo Moscow . Both brought hardcore punk to the style, which met influences from American bands such as Wipers and Rites of Spring . In addition to singer Jens Rachut , Mahler also wrote some of the lyrics. The musical style of the band moved between slime and raid and close to the early emocore .
A first single was released in 1987 with Angst Macht Keinen Lärm , the first long player Angeschissen from the following year was released exclusively as a vinyl record . The band was supported by the studio guitarist Atli Grund. A split LP with Rachut's second volume Das Moor was also released in 1988, shortly afterwards Angeschissen broke up. The entire work was released in 1997 on a double album on the Hamburg record label Schiffen. Follow-up projects of the singer Jens Rachut were u. a. Flowers on the ass of hell , dachshund blood , Grandma Hans and Kommando Sonne-nmilch . In the latter, Mahler was again on the drums until 2010.
