Gary Stephen "Angry" Anderson AM (born August 5, 1947 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian rock singer and actor .

biography

Angry Anderson became known in the 1970s as the singer of the band Rose Tattoo , with whom he still tours and releases albums . His bluesy , powerful voice and his shaved head are characteristic of him . In 1985 he was seen in the third part of the Mad Max series as Tina Turner 's sidekick. Anderson reached number 3 in the British charts in 1987 with the ballad Suddenly from the soap opera Neighbors . In 1992, Anderson played King Herod in the Australian production of the rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar .

At the beginning of the 21st century, Anderson - contrary to his image as a "bad boy" - took part in some charity events such as B. participated in the Bali Relief Concert for the benefit of the victims of the Bali attack . Anderson is a holder of the Order of Australia , an order of special merit introduced by Elizabeth II .
