Angus Wall

Angus Alexander Wall (born March 15, 1967 ) is an American film editor .

Life

Angus Wall's mother, Jackie Wall, was an elementary school art teacher. When Angus was about 10 years old, she loaned him and his best friend Vince Gilligan a Super 8 camera , encouraging them to express themselves cinematically and thus sparking her interest in the film business at an early age. After studying at Bowdoin College from 1984 to 1988, Wall founded his own editing company Rock Paper Scissors with Linda Carlson in 1992 , which initially focused mainly on editing commercials. During this time he edited some of the commercials directed by David Fincher , so that Fincher hired him for the title editing of his thriller Seven . After he was still a consultant at Fight Club , he already edited Panic Room on an equal footing with James Haygood and became the sole editor for Zodiac . At that time, he was already assisted by Kirk Baxter , with whom he subsequently edited The Strange Case of Benjamin Button , The Social Network and Verblendung , after being nominated for the 2009 Academy Award for The Strange Case of Benjamin Button and 2011 for Best Editing by The Social Network and were also awarded an Oscar in 2012 for the best cut in veneer .

Wall, like his company, is known for making complete films digitally very early on . So true Zodiac - The trace of the killer by 2007 as the first feature film to be shot without classic footage.
