Anja Dorn

Anja Dorn , formerly Anja Nathan-Dorn, (* 1971 in Cologne ) is a German curator , art critic and current director of the Leopold Hoesch Museum and the Paper Museum in Düren .

Dorn is professor for curatorial studies and dramaturgical practice at the State University of Design in Karlsruhe .

After studying art history, theater, film and television studies and economics in Cologne and Florence , the De Appel Curatorial Training Program followed in 1997/98 to train curators in Amsterdam . As part of a guest professorship at the Hessian Theater Academy, she has the Festival of Young Talents! curated on the Bockenheim campus in Frankfurt am Main , which takes place every 2 years.

From 2007 to 2011 she was director of the Kölnischer Kunstverein together with Kathrin Jentjens and has had solo exhibitions with Alexandra Bircken , Simon Denny , Omer Fast , Melanie Gilligan, Michael Krebber , Mark Leckey , Seth Price , Stephen Prina , Nora Schultz , Boris Sieverts and many others realized. These were supplemented by group exhibitions such as Concepts of Love , 2008, Lecture Performance , 2009, or Forbidden Love: Art in the Wake of Television , 2010, some of which were developed together with artists (Simon Denny and Judith Hopf ). From 2000 to 2005, Anja Nathan-Dorn worked as a freelance curator and art critic at Galerie Christian Nagel and was co-curator of the April project space in Cologne.

On August 1, 2018, Anja Dorn succeeded Renate Goldmann as director of the Leopold Hoesch Museum in Düren and the Paper Museum .
