Ankh: battle of the gods

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ankh: Battle of the Gods is a point-and-click adventure developed in Germany by the Deck13 company . After Ankh and Ankh: Heart of Osiris, it is the third part of a series of humorous adventures that are thematically set in ancient Egypt .

action

After Assil got rid of the ankh in “Heart of Osiris” and also got back together with Thara, nothing stands in the way of living together in their own home. But only a short time later, new adversity looms. First, the common house is on fire after a meteorite impact . After Assil and Thara managed to escape from the burning house, they discover that Assil is again wearing the ankh, a talisman in the shape of an ankh . You meet two old acquaintances, the seer Take Tut Cachem and the fire eater Vulkan, who are responsible for the repatriation of the speaking follower: The appearance of the camel constellation heralds the beginning of the "battle of the gods", which heralds the meteor shower heard. The Egyptian gods play the further rule over the country from among themselves. Since the evil Seth is the favorite, the Ankh (a god banished into the figure) should intervene in the fight and win. Assil is intended to be its bearer as the ankh has no arms and legs.

Supported by Thara and the three Israelites , Assil sets off to Luxor - in this game an ancient Las Vegas - cut and gambling paradise. A portal to the Hotel of the Gods is assumed here, where the fight is to take place. Assil and the Ankh finally arrive at the hotel after some quarrels and a detour to the Scandinavian ice cream. During the game, Assil not only finds out that Seth is using unfair means, but also that he is actually responsible for the banishment of a god into the Ankh. Said banishment goes back to an incident with Osiris .

Game principle and technology

It's a classic point-and-click adventure . Handling and game concept are the same as in the previous games. The game was developed with the OGRE based PINA2 engine.

Production notes

It was released on November 19, 2007. Like its predecessors, it was developed by Deck13 and published by bhv software under the label XIDER . For the first time, Daedalic Entertainment took over the marketing of this title and therefore acts as a co-publisher. The development was led by Armin Burger.

As in the previous games, tried and tested voice actors were used for the dubbing. Again Oliver Rohrbeck speaks Assil, and Thomas Danneberg and Frank Glaubrecht can be heard again. In addition, this time Engelbert von Nordhausen (German voice of Samuel L. Jackson ) and Hans-Werner Bussinger (including Lee Majors in Ein Colt for all cases ) took part. There was an increase Rania Bonalana out as the voice of Thara. Her part was taken over by Katrin Zimmermann.
