Anna Benkendorff

Anna Benkendorff (born December 4, 1855 in Karthaus , Prussia province , † after 1931) was a German painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Benkendorff studied painting, initially in Kassel , and also with Karl Gussow in Berlin . In 1881 she was a private student of Carl Irmer in Düsseldorf . In 1898 she lived in Weimar, Kurthstrasse 16. In 1896, she studied in Rome . She settled in Dresden , where she lived in 1904 at Schnorrstraße 23, in 1907 in the old town, Lindenaustraße 16. Benkendorff painted still lifes, flowers and landscapes, for example with motifs from Hamburg and the surrounding area, and exhibited in Berlin, Dresden and Leipzig, among others.
