Life

Anna Maria Pfründt was born in Lyon in 1642, she came from the family of the wax boss and medalist Georg Pfründt (1603–1663). In 1659 she married the medalist Johann Bartholomäus Braun (died 1684) from Nuremberg . From 1659 she signed her work with AMB , before that the sign was AMP. In her work she achieved a great mastery with her colored wax embossing, which echoes Antonio Abondio .

She died in Frankfurt am Main in 1713 . Works by her are in the collections in Braunschweig in the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum , in Kassel in the Hessisches Landesmuseum, in the Kunstkammer of the Schlossmuseum Gotha and in Vienna in the Museum für Kunst und Kunstgewerbe.

In 1906 she showed two medals at the art exhibition in Dresden: Friedrich I, Duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg and Johann Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach .
