Anna Sophia von Anhalt
Anna Sophia von Anhalt (born June 15, 1584 in Dessau , † June 9, 1652 in Oberkranichfeld ) was a daughter of Prince Joachim Ernst von Anhalt and his second wife Eleanor of Württemberg.
Life
Anna Sophia married on 13. June 1613 in Rudolstadt Count Karl Günther of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt . The marriage remained childless.
Anna Sophia was considered one of the most educated women of her time. She was the sister of Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt-Koethen , one of the founders of the Fruitful Society . After the death of her husband in 1630, she moved the residence to Kranichfeld and founded a virtuous society there in 1619, which is only accessible to women . As a sponsor of the school and church system, she granted asylum and support to the pedagogue Wolfgang Ratke in Kranichfeld .
