Anna Svendsen (born March 25, 1990 ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Svendsen made her debut in the Scandinavian Cup in Sjusjøen in January 2007 , where she finished 85th in the 10 km classic mass start race and 89th place in the 5 km freestyle. Svendsen achieved her first point placements in January 2012 in Nes with 28th place over 10 km freestyle and eleventh place in the sprint. Shortly afterwards she made her first appearance in the World Cup in Drammen , where she came 64th in the sprint. Svendsen started on the US Super Tour in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons . Her best placings there she reached eleventh place in the Bozeman sprint in December 2012 and 13th place also in the sprint in Kincaid Park near Anchorage ; her best placement in a distance race was 21st place over 10 km classic in the mass start in Bozeman. In the 2014/15 season , Svendsen returned to the Scandinavian Cup and in February 2015 achieved her first top 10 placement with eighth place over 10 km classic in Madona . A month later she was again eighth in the sprint in Jõulumäe and started again in the World Cup in Oslo . As 41st in the sprint, however, she also missed the points in her second outing. At the Scandinavian Cup in Östersund in January 2016, Svendsen achieved her first podium finish with second place in the sprint and was seventh in the 20 km mass start race in the classic technique. In March 2016 she came back on the classic podium with second place over 5 km and finally finished 11th in the overall ranking. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season she got her first World Cup points with the fifth place in the sprint on the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer , which she finished in 25th place. In the further course of the season she came in the points four times in the World Cup and thus achieved 42nd place in the overall World Cup. In February 2017 she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup in Pyeongchang with second place together with Silje Øyre Slind .

After finishing 51st in the Ruka Triple at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Svendsen made it into the top ten four times in the Scandinavian Cup, including second place over 10 km classic in Vuokatti and thus achieved sixth place in the overall Scandinavian Cup standings. In the 2018/19 season she finished 41st in the Lillehammer Triple and took her first victory in the Scandinavian Cup in the sprint in Östersund . In addition, she was twice in the top ten in the World Cup print and finally reached 36th place in the overall World Cup and 23rd place in the Sprint World Cup. At the end of March 2019 she won third place over 30 km classic at the Norwegian championships in Lygna . At the Reistadløpet in early April 2019 she came third. In the 2019/20 season she achieved 25th place in the Ruka Triple and 40th place in the ski tour, 36th place in the overall World Cup.
