Anna Wrangel

Anna Wrangel von Brehmer (born June 9, 1876 as Anna Margareta Faehte in Düsseldorf , † September 17, 1941 in Landskrona in Skåne , Sweden ) was a German-Swedish portrait and landscape painter , draftsman and graphic artist .

Anna was one of four children and the youngest of two daughters of the Düsseldorf businessman August Faehte (also Fähte , * 1835) from his marriage to Elisabeth Laura, née Braun (* 1843), in 1873. At the age of 16 she received drawing lessons in Düsseldorf. In the 1890s she studied sculpture in Paris . However, she turned to painting and mainly created portraits, as well as views of cities and landscapes. On April 1, 1905, she married the Swedish painter and graphic artist Jürgen Wrangel (1881–1957), offspring of the Swedish branch Wrangel von Brehmer of the Baltic German aristocratic family Wrangel . The couple had their son Johan (* 1906) and their daughters Lena (* 1908) and Anna Isabella (1911–1975) in Paris. The latter also became a painter and graphic artist. The marriage ended in divorce in 1917.

Anna Wrangel exhibited in the Salon de Paris , in 1914 as part of the Baltic exhibition and the exhibition of the Swedish Association of Artists in Liljevalchs Konsthall in Stockholm , in 1916 together with her husband in the Stockholm Art Academy and in the art schools of Malmö and Gothenburg , 1917 in the Schonen Art Association Malmö and together with Einar Jolin (1890–1976) at Galerie Gummeson in Stockholm. She received a silver medal at an international exhibition in San Francisco .
