Annalisa Minetti (born December 27, 1976 in Rho , metropolitan city of Milan ) is an Italian singer , songwriter , disabled athlete and television presenter .

Career

Minetti began performing as a singer on cover versions in bars as a teenager . With the band Perro Negro, she presented herself in the pre-selection of the Sanremo Festival in 1995, but was not allowed. From 1996 she almost completely lost her eyesight due to illness. In 1997 she took part in Miss Italia and finally won the Sanremo Giovani competition with the song L'eroe che sei tu , which enabled her to compete at the 1998 Sanremo Festival . With Senza te o con te she not only won the newcomer category, but also the main competition, in which she was also allowed to take part thanks to the rules of that year. Following this success, Minetti's debut album Treno blu was released . In collaboration with well-known musicians such as Ron , Biagio Antonacci , Eros Ramazzotti , Enrico Ruggeri and Mariella Nava , the singer released the next album Qualcosa di più in 1999 . The following year she was seen as the protagonist in the musical Beatrice e Isidoro .

Minetti returned to the public in 2004 when he participated in the reality show Music Farm . In 2005 she again took part in the Sanremo Festival alongside Toto Cutugno and achieved second place in the overall ranking with Come noi nessuno al mondo . In the following years she released more singles, in 2008 her son was born. In 2012 she took part in the Paralympic Games in London and won the 1500 m bronze medal, setting the world record in the blind category. In the same year she was third in the same category at the IPC European Athletics Championships , and at the 2013 World Athletics Championships for the disabled , she finally won the gold medal over 800 m.

Minetti only occasionally published music again; new albums were released in 2009 and 2012. She also took part in various television programs and also appeared as a presenter herself. In 2012 and 2017 she also published two books, Iride. Veloce come il vento or Io rinasco . In 2013, Minetti was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (knighthood) for her services .
