Mariella Nava

Mariella Nava (born February 3, 1960 in Taranto ; actually Maria Giuliana Nava ) is an Italian singer and songwriter .

Career

Nava began her career in 1985 with the song Questi figli , which she wrote for Gianni Morandi . She made her debut as a singer at the Sanremo Festival in 1987 . She reached the finals in the youth competition with her song. Her first album was released the following year and was awarded the Italian Record Critics' Prize for best debut.

In the following years she regularly wrote titles for many of her colleagues, such as Andrea Bocelli , Loredana Bertè , Gigi d'Alessio , Mietta , Irene Fargo , Tosca , Amii Stewart , Eduardo De Crescenzo , Syria , Annalisa Minetti and Renato Zero , who with her song Spalle al muro took second place at the 1991 Sanremo Festival .

A selection of the songs she wrote for others can be found on her album Condivisioni , on which she recorded these songs as duets with the original interpreters. The album was released in late 2004 and also contains new pieces that she sings solo. With one exception: a duet in Italian and English with Dionne Warwick .

She celebrated her greatest success as a singer at the Sanremo Festival in 1999 . There she took third place with the song Così è la vita .

In 2000 she presented the song Futuro come te in a duet with Amedeo Minghi at the Sanremo Festival .

She took part in the Sanremo Festival eight times.
