Renato Zero
Renato Zero [ Renato d͡zɛːro ] (* the 30th September 1950 in Rome as Renato Fiacchini ) is an Italian singer, singer-songwriter , composer and actor. The non-conformist and eccentric artist is considered to be the main representative of Italian glam rock and was able to achieve the rank of a "phenomenon" in the Italian music scene, especially due to the emphasized ambiguity of his appearances, his style of clothing and his song content. With 15 number one albums and five number one hits, he has also had great sales successes to this day.
biography
From a young age Fiacchini was a regular visitor to the Piper Club in his hometown of Rome, where he also made the acquaintance of the Bertè sisters ( Loredana Bertè and Mia Martini ). From then on he appeared with them as a dancer on RAI TV shows , a job that Don Lurio had helped them to get. In 1969 he had an extra role in Fellini's Satyricon and played in the Italian version of the musical Hair and the rock opera Orfeo 9 (both as a musical and as a film). Renato Zero made his debut as a singer in 1973 with the album No! Mom, no! His breakthrough came with his fourth album Zerofobia (1977).
From 1979 Zero released his albums under his own label Zerolandia , starting with the album EroZero . In addition, the film Ciao Nì came out, in which Zero played his first and only film lead role. After five number-one albums and two number-one hits went Zeros back popularity in the late '80s, but in 1991 he returned with his participation in the Sanremo Music Festival with the song Spalle al muro by Mariella Nava back into the limelight. Another successful festival participation took place in 1993 (with Ave Maria ). This was followed by a stylistic realignment and the establishment of the new label Fonopoli . At the end of the 90s he reached a new high of success with Amore dopo amore , the best-selling album of 1998, and the subsequent tour. In 2000 he moderated the show Tutti gli Zeri del mondo on Rai 1 , in which he appeared with a large number of fellow musicians; this resulted in the album of the same name. However, the show only proved to be a moderate success.
With La curva dell'angelo , which in collaboration with u. a. Ennio Morricone , Zero returned to the top of the album charts in 2001. The 2003 album Cattura also proved to be a great success, and the subsequent tour led to the live album Figli del sogno in 2004 . The next studio album was Il dono (2005), after another successful tour, which was awarded the Telegatto as the best tour of the year in 2007 , the best of album Renatissimo was released in 2006 ! . In 2009 Presente came out, followed by ZeroNoveTour presente , which contained the studio album as well as live recordings and a DVD and was awarded a diamond in 2010 . The two-part album Amo also proved Zero's continued success in 2013. In 2015, an exhibition on Zero was held in Rome.
