Amedeo Minghi (born August 12, 1947 in Rome ) is an Italian cantautore and composer . He is particularly known for the number one hit Vattene amore , which he presented in a duet with Mietta at the 1990 Sanremo Festival .

Career

Minghi's career began in the mid-1960s when he wrote lyrics for the composer Stelvio Cipriani and then got his first recording deal with Ricordi . His first single was Alla fine (1966), but he soon had to start his military service. Then he gradually took up his music career again, he had his first success in 1976 with the single L'immenso . From 1983 he worked for three years with the poet Gaio Chiocchio , which resulted in successful titles such as St. Michel , Quando l'estate verrà , Sognami , Emanuela e io , Cuore di pace and Ladri di sole . With the song 1950 he took part in the Sanremo Festival for the first time in 1983 , but without reaching the final. Then Minghi released the album of the same name.

This was followed by the albums Cuori di pace (1986), Serenata (1987) and Le nuvole e la rosa (1988). In 1990 Minghi returned to Sanremo at the side of Mietta and was able to achieve third place with Vattene amore ; the young singer had won the newcomer category last year with a song written by Minghi. In the following year , Nenè only came sixth in the competition, and in 1993 Notte bella magnifica only came ninth. After the successful album I ricordi del cuore (1992), Minghi gave a concert at the Stadio Olimpico and released live albums and a compilation. He also wrote soundtracks for film and television , including for the 1991 fairy tale series Princess Fantaghirò . In 1996 he again took part in the Sanremo Festival with Cantare è d'amore without much success.

At the Sanremo Festival 2000 Minghi tried it in a duet with Mariella Nava and the song Futuro come te , but the contribution only ended up in 14th place. Further unsuccessful Sanremo participations took place in 2003 and 2008 . In 2005 the singer raised money for UNICEF together with actor Lino Banfi . In 2007 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Komtur). After a new record deal with Sony , Minghi released the latest studio album La bussola e il cuore in 2016 .

Minghi also wrote songs for u. a. Andrea Bocelli , Francesco De Gregori , Gianni Morandi , Marcella Bella , Ricchi e Poveri , Mia Martini and Anna Oxa .
