Honors

  • 2011 East Midland Book Award for her novel The whispers of Nemesis

reception

Enthusiastic about the landscape of the Greek islands, Zouroudi began to incorporate it into her short stories. The stories about their protagonist “Hermes Diaktoros” soon grew into a cycle of novels, the individual volumes of which were highly praised by the public as well as by critics upon publication.

In addition to the criminal cases that Hermes Diaktoros has to clear up, the seven volumes in this series also deal with one of the seven deadly sins : "The messenger of Athens" ( lust ), "The taint of Midas" ( greed ), "The doctor of Thessaly" ( Envy ), "The Lady of sorrows" ( anger ), "The whispers of Nemesis" ( arrogance ), "The bull of Mithros" ( laziness ) and "The Feast of Arthemis" ( gluttony ).
