Annette Klussmann-Kolb (born December 29, 1969 in Tönning ) is a German biologist . Until 2014 she was a professor at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , since then she has been working as a science coach .

Life

Klussmann piston acquired in 1995 at the University of Bielefeld , the diploma in biology and in 1999 at the University of Bielefeld to Dr. rer. nat. with a doctoral thesis on the fine structure of egg layers and the genital tract of Opisthobranchia ( hindgill snails ). As a postdoctoral fellow , she worked on a research grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and at James Cook University in Townsville , Australia.

In 2002 she took on a junior professorship at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , and in 2009 the professorship for phylogeny and animal systematics . Since 2008 she has also done research at the Biodiversity and Climate Research Center (BiK-F) in Frankfurt am Main ; since October 2012 she has been visiting professor at the Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Mbarara , Uganda . In 2008 she was awarded the 1822 University Prize for Excellent Teaching from the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main for her teaching performance.

Klussmann-Kolb has been working as a science coach in his own company since 2014. Here she offers advice and training especially for academics who are aiming for a university career. Since 2015 she has also been working in the "Science Coordination" team of the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research in Frankfurt.

Scientific work

Klussmann-Kolb reconstructed phylogenetic relationships in the molluscs on the basis of molecular and morphological characteristics . Using molluscs as an example, she also investigated whether climatic changes in the geological past had an influence on the development of biodiversity and whether certain complexes of characteristics promoted the radiation of molluscs.

Klussmann-Kolb was the first to describe Siphopteron leah and Enopteron heikeae from the Gastropteridae family .
