Annette Leßmöllmann (* 1968 in Groß-Gerau ) is a German linguist and science journalist .

Life

After a stay in Madrid, Leßmöllmann studied linguistics, philosophy and history at the University of Vienna and the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1989 . During her studies she worked as a freelancer and author a. a. for n-tv and the Frankfurter Rundschau . Following her master's degree in 1996, she received a position as a research assistant in the DFG project "Axiomatics of Spatial Concepts" at the University of Hamburg . In 1998 she switched to the graduate college for cognitive science there , which she completed in 2000 with a dissertation on form adjectives and concepts. After completing her doctorate, she initially worked as an online editor and, after the burst of the Internet bubble, took on teaching assignments at the Universities of Hamburg and Magdeburg, the Northern Institute of Technology , the FH Nordakademie Elmshorn and the University of Darmstadt . In 2004 she became editor for the spectrum of the science magazine Brain & Mind .

Annette Leßmöllmann was professor for journalism with a focus on science journalism at Darmstadt University from September 1, 2006 to August 31, 2013. On September 1, 2013, she took over the professorship for science communication and linguistics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) .
