The Nordakademie has been awarded the ERASMUS University Charter by the European Commission . This most important university exchange program in Europe supports the cooperation of universities and enables the participating students financial grants for the stay abroad as well as the participation in the activities of the Erasmus network in over 30 countries. If you want to study abroad after completing your basic training, you can also apply for other funding programs (e.g. at the German National Academic Foundation or the Fulbright Commission ).

Application and admission to study

Applicants for a place in one of the five bachelor's programs must first pass the Nordakademie's online selection test. As soon as a successful test result is available, applicants can apply directly to the Nordakademie cooperating company. Admission to the course then results from the conclusion of the training relationship. The application for a place in the part-time master’s courses (MBA, M.Sc. or MA) takes place directly at the university. The selection process for these courses includes several online tests, an interview with representatives from the university and a test of language skills.

State recognition, accreditation and rankings

All courses at the university are state-recognized. The NORDAKADEMIE has been system accredited by FIBAA since 2012 and has been system re-accredited since July 2018 (without conditions). The Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) attested to the university in 2011 very good study conditions. The university achieved excellent results with the dual bachelor's degree in business administration: The university was confirmed to be among the top group in all key criteria such as “overall study situation”, “studyability”, “courses offered” and “supervision by teachers”. Another six placements in the top group resulted in the assessment of the Nordakademie by graduates. The ranking also places the Elmshorn private university in the top group for these four criteria in the industrial engineering course. Since the first edition of this nationwide ranking in 1998, the Nordakademie has held a top position in the two courses mentioned.

As part of the re-accreditation in 2008, the MBA program was also the first master’s course in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to be awarded the premium seal of FIBAA for its above-average quality in all core areas. Of the 300 or so master’s programs accredited by FIBAA, this special distinction has so far only been awarded to six other master’s programs.
