Annette Schleiermacher

Annette Schleiermacher (born June 26, 1926 in Karlsruhe ) is a German actress .

Life

Annette Schleiermacher grew up in Karlsruhe. Her father was the engineer Ernst Friedrich Schleiermacher, her mother Margarete Schleiermacher, b. Schellens, her grandfather August Schleiermacher . Annette Schleiermacher completed her acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . She had her first engagement as an actress in Heidelberg in 1947. Further stations were the State Theater Braunschweig under the direction of Walter Bruno Iltz , the State Theater Darmstadt under the direction of Gustav Rudolf Sellner , the Schauspielhaus Cologne , the Schillertheater Berlin and the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus under the direction of Karl -Heinz Stroux .

Schleiermacher married the German-American scientist Peter Wegener in 1963 , who taught as a physicist at Yale University . At the end of the 1964 season, she moved to near New Haven (Connecticut) on the east coast of the United States. From there she gave acting classes under her new name Annette Wegener at the School of Music at Yale University and at the Juilliard School in New York. At Yale University she staged several operas, e.g. B. Figaro's wedding . During this time she translated an art book from American into German (see literature).

After the death of her husband, she returned to Germany in 2009 and now lives in Munich and Berlin. In 2012 she was interviewed as the wife of a contemporary witness in the television film George , where she describes the strained relationship between her father-in-law Paul Wegener's and Heinrich George at the end of the war .
