action

In the town of Brasada, the governor visits the rancher Reese Kilgore. The territory is to be declared a state, but Indian attacks take place again and again in the area. Kilgore pursues the opinion to relocate the Indians to another reservation , the governor refers to the valid peace treaty. In the mission church the governor meets the white rider, who doubts the guilt of the Indians and starts investigating at the request of the governor.

When Kilgore's men, led by foreman Cassidy, hire men to lead a herd of cattle to Abilene , the white rider with Pete Ramirez smuggles an informant into the group. On the way there is a fatal incident when Cassidy meets old Kimberley, the sheriff's father, and shoots him. Ramirez is also shot dead in Abilene after he realizes that Cassidy was ordered to transport Kilgore's dynamite on the way back.

The white rider misses his informant, the statement that he should have quit in Abilene, he excludes. Due to the tense situation with the Indians, there is a fight between Tonto and Cassidy in Brasada. The angry crowd intends to hang the Indian. At the last second, the white rider can save his friend from the rope and flee. In Abilene, the white rider learns of Ramirez's death and of the purchase of the dynamite. After his return, the white rider and Tonto manage to arrest some alleged Indians who turn out to be Kilgore's people during the handover to the sheriff. The white rider asks Sheriff Kimberley to inform the governor.

Tonto and the white rider discover that the Indians kidnapped Kilgore's daughter Lila. After a duel with the chief candidate Schneller Hirsch, which the rider can decide for himself, Tonto and the white rider are allowed to take the girl with them. When the two give Lila to their mother, they learn that Kilgore is calling the settlers together to attack the Indians.

When the white rider sets Kilgore at a cave, there is a shooting in which the masked hero is injured. Not only can Tonto save his friend, they now discover the reason for Kilgore's action. The mountain on the Indian territory contains a silver vein. The white rider and Tonto prevent the settlers from meeting the Indians in good time. The cavalry notified by Kimberley finally separated the groups. When the sheriff tries to arrest Kilgore and Cassidy, he puts all the blame on his foreman. Cassidy then shoots his boss.
