Fran Striker

Francis Hamilton "Fran" Striker (born August 19, 1903 in Buffalo , New York , † September 4, 1962 in Erie County , New York) was an American author . His most famous figure is the Lone Ranger .

Life

In 1933, Striker began working for the WXYZ radio station in Detroit . He delivered up to five episodes for various radio plays per week . When the station's owner, George Trendle, needed a western series, Striker created the Lone Ranger. By 1956, 2956 episodes had aired. The first film was made in 1938. Striker was also responsible for the newspaper strips and several episodes of the TV series with Clayton Moore .

With The Green Hornet , Striker created another very successful figure. The series aired from 1936 to 1952. It also drew a television series with Van Williams and Bruce Lee and a 2011 film with Seth Rogen .

This was followed in 1938 by a series about the secret agent Ned Jordan and a gold digger series Challenge of the Yukon .

Striker was also the author of several episodes of the series Adventures Of the Sea Hound about Captain Silver and wrote eight Tom Quest youth novels between 1947 and 1955 .

Striker died in 1962 as a result of a car accident. His grave is in the Arcade Rural Cemetery in Wyoming .
