Eduard H. Steenken

Eduard Heinrich Steenken , pseudonyms Paul Laurent and Georg Summermatter , (born November 29, 1910 in Emden , Province of Hanover , Kingdom of Prussia ; † August 10, 1989 in Geneva ) was a German-Swiss journalist , translator , editor and author .

Life

Eduard H. Steenken grew up in East Frisia and went to school in his hometown. After finishing school he was an intern at various universities in southern Germany . From 1933 he lived in Geneva, Switzerland , where he worked for several newspapers , such as the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , and was a co-founder of the magazine Auslese. In addition to his work as a translator, he has edited a number of volumes of short stories and poetry as an author . Steenken also wrote for various well-known magazines, such as the Simplicissimus published by Olaf Iversen .
