action

Texas 1854, the Reids ranch is raided by bandits. Only ten year old Johnny survives. Through his friend, the Indian Tonto, Dan is accepted into his tribe. Tonto and Johnny form a blood brotherhood . Eventually John is picked up by his older brother Dan. The stagecoach, in which the now grown-up John also travels, is ambushed by the dreaded Cavendish gang. John is on his way to see his brother, who is now a captain in the Texas Rangers . When John prevents the bandits from killing the driver, he impresses Amy Striker. John learns from Dan through Cavendish, who leads his gang like an army, even the sheriff is on his side.

John also joins the Texas Rangers. When Amy's uncle, the newspaper publisher Lucas, is killed by the Cavendish gang, the rangers go into pursuit. The ranger Collins betrays his group and lures them into an ambush. The rangers are brutally slaughtered in a ravine. In order not to arouse suspicion of the only survivor, Cavendish also injures Collins. Tonto observed the matter by chance, he recognizes in John his old friend and saves his life. He nurses John back to health with his tribe and teaches him to shoot. Since John is not a particularly good shooter, Tonto gives him silver bullets, and their flight behavior means that John hits them with precision. When John rescues a wild stallion from a pit, he soon becomes his loyal companion Silver. Ultimately, John now swears to fight for law and order and is the last lonely ranger to put on a mask.

First, the ranger tries to find out about Cavendish's whereabouts from the renegade ranger Collins. In a tavern he shows the traitor his brother's ranger badge. Before Collins can say anything, he is ambushed and shot. The sheriff, who was present immediately, arrested Tonto, who was waiting in front of the building, as an alleged murderer. When he is about to be hung, the ranger saves him by shooting through the rope and escaping with him.

The American President Grant travels in the company of Buffalo Bill , General Custer and Wild Bill Hickok on a train through Texas to hunt buffalo . By allowing the President's car to be uncoupled unnoticed, Cavendish succeeds in bringing Grant into his power. He wants to get the president to hand over Texas to him. With the help of the other western heroes, the Lone Ranger and Tonto save the president. The ranger can catch the fleeing Cavendish and hand him over to the authorities.
