Annika Schlicht (* 1988 in Stuttgart ) is a German opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Schlicht is currently studying with Renate Faltin at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and is also attending interpretation courses for opera with Júlia Várady and for lied with Wolfram Rieger . She is a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association and has attended master classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau , Brigitte Fassbaender , Deborah Polaski , Christine Schäfer and Patricia McCaffrey, among others .

Since the 2013/14 season she has been a fellow of the Liz Mohn Culture and Music Foundation at the International Opera Studio of the Berlin State Opera . She made her debut at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden as Flosshilde in Rheingold , sang the 2nd Lady in the Magic Flute , Annina in La traviata , the stepmother in Wolf-Ferrari's Cinderella and Judy in Birtwistle's opera Punch and Judy . She also embodied the slave in Richard Strauss' Salome - under the direction of Zubin Mehta , directed by Harry Kupfer . She was also heard as a soloist in the Advent concerts of the Staatskapelle Berlin .

In summer 2014 she was accepted into the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival and made her debut in the world premiere of Marc-André Dalbavie's opera Charlotte Salomon as an art student from Tyrol. In a children's version of Rossini's La Cenerentola , she sang Angelina in the same summer festival - alternating with Diana Haller .

Other roles in her repertoire are Dorabella in Così fan tutte , the child in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges , the mother in Martinůs Les larmes de couteau , the Zita in Gianni Schicchi and the Sorceress in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas , as well as the young cook Croûte-au-pots in Offenbach's operetta Mesdames de la Halle .

Annika Schlicht also sings oratorios and in the concert hall. She took over the alto solos in Bruch's Greeting to Holy Night , in Vivaldi's Gloria and in Mendelssohn's Paulus , as well as in Schumann's The Rose Pilgrimage and in Saint-Saëns ' Oratorio de Noël . At the invitation of Brigitte Fassbaender she performed - together with the bass baritone Andreas Mattersberger - a song matinee at the Eppaner Liedsommer in the summer of 2014 , songs by Richard Strauss were performed .
