Anselm Hartmann (basketball player)

Anselm Hartmann (born February 12,  1993 in Kiel ) is a German basketball player . The 1.91 meter long player played a Bundesliga game for Oldenburg.

career

Hartmann was born in the Schleswig-Holstein  state capital Kiel  and grew up in Wahnbek  near Oldenburg in Lower Saxony  . He played basketball at TuS Wahnbek before moving to the youth department of the Oldenburg TB  . He was appointed to the German U16 national team, took part in the European Championship in Kaunas in the summer of 2009 , in the same year he left Oldenburg for Thuringia , from then on attended the sports high school in Jena and played in the junior division of the TuS Jena.

At the U17 World Cup in Hamburg in the summer of 2010, Hartmann was the captain of the German team. For the 2010/11 season he switched back to the Oldenburg TB. In summer 2011 he played for Germany at the U18 European Championship in Poland. In the 2011/12 season he was part of the extended squad of Bundesliga club EWE Baskets Oldenburg and made his professional debut in the European Cup, while playing mainly for the OTB men's team in the regional league and with them made it to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . In November 2012 Hartmann was used for the first time in a game of the basketball Bundesliga  . His main field of activity, however, was the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in Oldenburg's youth development team.

In 2013 Hartmann moved to the UBC Münster  in the regional league and started a university course in the city in the subjects of sport and history. In the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons he was named the best German player in the Regionalliga West by the internet service eurobasket.com . He left the club after the 2016/17 season to travel around the world. From the 2018/19 season he played at USC Freiburg in the 2nd regional league.
