Antonio Maria Bessa Taipa

António Maria Bessa Taipa (born November 11, 1942 in Freamunde , Portugal ) is a Portuguese clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Porto .

Life

António Maria Bessa Taipa received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Porto on August 15, 1966 .

On 22 February 1999 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Tabbora and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Porto. The Bishop of Porto, Armindo Lopes Coelho , ordained him episcopal on April 18th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop emeritus of Porto, Júlio Tavares Rebimbas , and the auxiliary bishop of Porto, João Miranda Teixeira .

On October 27, 2018, Pope Francis accepted António Maria Bessa Taipa's resignation for reasons of age.
