Reviews

  • “Spielmann shows what is happening from the different angles of the characters. Objects, individual incidents and sentences mark points of contact. This creates scenes of great tension and density, which document both the fragility and complexity of human existence. "
  • "Although most of the scenes from Antares are exhausted in platitudes and social clichés that have already been chewed on several times, it remains entertaining for long periods regardless of its running time of two hours."
  • “The expected stereotypes offer pure social realism, only to be a disturbing parody of their own weaknesses. Antares is the name of a distant bright constellation. But none of the figures raise their eyes to the sky, ”wrote Christina Krisch in the Kronen-Zeitung on April 9, 2009
  • The lexicon of international films sums up: “The director's illusion-free exploratory gaze is reminiscent of Robert Altman , but maintains a less emotionless distance. Despite the sobriety with which the life situations are portrayed, giving hope and full of sympathy for the characters. "
