Anthocercis gracilis is a plant type from the genus Anthocercis in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). An English common name is Slender Tailflower .

description

Anthocercis gracilis is a round growing shrub with a height of up to 60 cm. When in bloom it is almost leafless . Most of the time it is hairless or covered with isolated glandular or non-glandular trichomes . The leaves are narrowly elliptical or vice versa ovate, sessile and 3 to 27 mm long and 1 to 2 mm wide. They are whole or finely toothed.

The flowers are scattered individually or in cymes . The flower stalk becomes 5 to 8 mm long, the calyx reaches a length of 3.5 to 4 mm. The crown becomes 15 to 21 mm long, is pale yellow-green in color and has purple stripes. The corolla lobes are linear and 10 to 15 mm long. The stamens reach a length of 3.5 to 4 mm.

The fruit is an elliptical, pointed capsule with a length of 6.5 to 10 mm. It contains seeds with a length of 1.5 mm.

Distribution and locations

The species is a rare endemic that occurs exclusively in the slopes of the Darling Range near Perth in Western Australia . It grows in granite-rich soil in open forests.
