Anthony Chirayath

Anthony Chirayath (born July 30, 1941 in Aranattukara ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus Syro-Malabar bishop of Sagar .

Life

Anthony Chirayath was ordained a priest on January 2, 1970 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Sagar on February 2, 2006. The Grand Archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly , Varkey Cardinal Vithayathil CSsR , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Jacob Thoomkuzhy , Archbishop of Trichur , and his predecessor Joseph Pastor Neelankavil CMI .

On January 12, 2018, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
