Anthony Fernandes
Anthony Fernandes (born July 6, 1936 in Kalathur ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus bishop of Bareilly .
Life
Anthony Fernandes was ordained a priest on December 2, 1964 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him on January 19, 1989 as the first bishop of the Bareilly diocese, which was established on the same date. The Archbishop of Agra , Cecil DeSa , donated his episcopal ordination on March 29 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Patrick Paul D'Souza , Bishop of Varanasi , and Isidore Fernandes , Bishop of Allahabad .
On July 11, 2014, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
