Anthony Holland (born March 3, 1928 in New York City , † July 9, 1988 there ) was an American actor .

Life

Holland studied at the University of Chicago , where he learned from Lee Strasberg in the 1960s. He was part of the theater company The Second City . Holland has worked as a theater and film actor in the United States in very different roles. In 1987 he played in Martha Clarke's adaptation of several stories by Franz Kafka in the play The Hunger Artist .

In 1973 he was in the musical comedy Break Up on the television channel ABC with the actors Bernadette Peters and Carl Ballantine . On television, he appeared in various episodes of the television series Columbo , The Mary Tyler Moore Show , M * A * S * H , Hill Street Blues and Cagney & Lacey . Once symptoms of AIDS had occurred to him, committed Holland 1988 at the age of 60 years suicide .
