Anthony Michaelis

Anthony Rowland Michaelis (born August 22, 1916 in Berlin ; † October 18, 2007 in Heidelberg ) was an English science journalist and editor .

Life

After studying aerodynamics and then chemistry , both in London since 1933, Michaelis was interned in Canada because of the war events and had worked in a leading position in the chemical industry since 1941.

After the war he was hired by the British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee (BIOS), after which he worked as a technical writer at Ciba and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), both in Switzerland, as a scientific film writer in Australia, as an editor of the science newspaper " Discovery ”and then as a science journalist for the Daily Telegraph and from 1973 as the editor and founder of the Interdisciplinary Science Reviews (ISR).

Act

Michaelis aimed at a broad interdisciplinary scientific exchange as well as a respect for science in post-war Germany in the English-speaking countries.
