Anthony Rayappa Arulappa (born October 2, 1912 in Dharkast , British India , † August 2, 1996 ) was Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore .

Life

Anthony Rayappa Arulappa received on 19 March 1938, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 1, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore. The Internuntius in British India, Archbishop James Robert Knox , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Tanjore , Rajarethinam Arokiasamy Sundaram , and the Bishop of Vellore , David Maryanayagam Swamidoss Pillat SDB .

On January 26, 1987, Pope John Paul II accepted Anthony Rayappa Arulappa's resignation due to reasons of age.
