Antipeewee is a German thrash metal band from Abensberg in Lower Bavaria . The band is signed to This Charming Man Records and has released three studio albums to date.

history

The band was founded in 2006 at a birthday party where singer Philipp Schnepka and bassist Alexander Schott met. At first the band played punk with numerous cover versions before the musicians wrote their first songs with a drummer who was not known by name . The band name is based on the nickname "PeeWee" of the singer Philipp Schnepka and stands for self-destructive and self-deprecating energy. Around 2010, according to other sources in 2012, the band turned to Thrash Metal because the band members no longer wanted to spit on each other on stage and also wanted to meet the increased musical demands.

With Coralie Baier and Tom Mayer, a new guitarist and a new drummer joined the band, which was finally completed by the second guitarist Johannes Scheugenpflug. Together with producer Robert Hofmann, the band recorded their debut album Human Grill Party , which was released in 2013 by Good Damn Records. In the following months the band played numerous concerts and small festivals in Germany and shared the stage with bands such as Six Feet Under , Dr. Living Dead! or Sinister . In the summer of 2014 Antipeewee recorded her second studio album Madness Unleashed . A year later, the band was signed by This Charming Man Records, who released the album on December 4, 2015. The band released their first music video for the song Rise of Cthulhu . The German magazine Visions put Madness Unleashed its output 274 as a bonus for subscribers at.

style

The label This Charming Man Records compares the music of Antipeewee with the mixture of Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk known as crossover and names bands like the Suicidal Tendencies , MOD , Excel , Uncle Slam and Corrosion of Conformity , Anthrax , Exodus , Overkill and Testament as Reference. The texts deal with the topics of horror and science fiction . The Cthulhu myth, devised by the American writer HP Lovecraft , has a great influence . The musicians had the idea of portraying the sea monster Cthulhu as a thrash metal fan with a robe and baseball cap .
