Antoine Alexandre Julienne

Antoine Alexandre Julienne, Baron de Bélair , rare Baron de Béllair (born June 3, 1775 in Paris , † June 2, 1838 in Saint-Mandé ) was a French Général de brigade of the infantry .

Julienne came from an old officer family and was a son of the Maréchal de camp Alexandre Pierre Julienne (1747-1819).

When Napoleon started his war in Spain in 1807 , Julienne also volunteered, but was initially used in other theaters of war. He was only transferred there in 1809 and fought in front of Valls (February 25, 1809), Talavera (July 27/28, 1809) and Ocaña (November 19, 1809). In the following year he took u. a. participated in the siege of Ciudad Rodrigo (April / July 1810) and fought in the Almonacid (August 11, 1810).

In addition to some commendations from Napoleon, Julienne was also promoted: Colonel (June 20, 1809) and Général de brigade (February 26, 1813).

After the Battle of Paris (March 30, 1814) and Napoleon's abdication (→ Abdication ), Julienne supported King Louis XVIII. When Napoleon left the island of Elba and his " rule of the hundred days " began, Julienne was stationed in the Maine-et-Loire department and was a staff officer with General Charles-Antoine Morand (1771-1835).

After the Battle of Waterloo (June 18, 1815) was put up for discussion . After King Louis-Philippe I came to power (→ July Monarchy ) and the political situation had calmed down, Julienne resigned from all offices and retired. He settled in Saint-Mandé and died there the day before his 63rd birthday.
