Antoine Hacault

Antoine Hacault (born January 17, 1926 in Brussels , Belgium , † April 13, 2000 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Archbishop of Saint-Boniface .

Life

Antoine Hacault was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface on May 20, 1951 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 30, 1964 titular bishop of Media and auxiliary bishop in Saint-Boniface. The Archbishop of Saint-Boniface, Maurice Baudoux , ordained him episcopal on September 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Gravelbourg , Aimé Décosse , and the Bishop of Victoria , Remi Joseph De Roo .

Antoine Hacault participated in the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On October 28, 1972, Pope Paul VI appointed him. as coadjutor archbishop of Saint-Boniface and titular archbishop pro hac vice of Media . With the resignation of Maurice Baudoux on September 7, 1974, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Saint-Boniface.
