Aimé Décosse

Aimé Décosse (born June 21, 1903 in Somerset , Manitoba , † January 8, 1991 in Winnipeg ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Gravelbourg .

Life

Aimé Décosse studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at St. Boniface College and Laval University . He received on 4 July 1926 by the Archbishop of Saint-Boniface , Arthur Béliveau , the sacrament of Holy Orders . Subsequently, Aimé Décosse Regens was the seminary in Saint-Boniface and vicar general of the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface.

On November 3, 1953, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Gravelbourg. The coadjutor archbishop of Saint-Boniface, Maurice Baudoux , donated him episcopal ordination on January 20, 1954 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Regina , Michael Cornelius O'Neill , and the Archbishop of Ottawa , Marie-Joseph Lemieux OP .

Décosse attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . Pope Paul VI accepted Aimé Décosse's resignation on May 12, 1973.
