Arthur Béliveau

Arthur Béliveau (born March 2, 1870 in Mont Carmel de Champlain (near Trois-Rivières ), Québec , † September 14, 1955 ) was a Canadian Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Saint-Boniface .

Life

Arthur Béliveau was ordained a priest on September 24, 1893 .

Pope Pius X appointed him titular bishop of Domitiopolis and auxiliary bishop in Saint-Boniface on May 24, 1913 . The episcopal ordination donated to him the Archbishop of Saint-Boniface, Louis-Philippe Adélard Langevin OMI , on July 25th of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Prince-Albert , Albert Pascal OMI, and the Bishop of Regina , Olivier Elzéar Mathieu .

On November 9, 1915, Pope Benedict XV appointed him . to the Archbishop of Saint-Boniface. He held this office until his death.
