Anton Alexandrovich Adassinsky

Anton Alexandrowitsch Adassinski ( Russian Антон Александрович Адасинский , mostly Anton Adassinsky transcribed; born April 15, 1959 in Krasnoyarsk ) is a Russian actor , comedian and dancer .

Life

At a young age Adassinski was active as an artist by writing short stories, poems and playing guitar. He became a member of the Leningrad clown group Licedei in the 1980s. In 1988 he founded the theater ensemble DEREVO (Russian tree ) in Leningrad (today St. Petersburg ). Together with DEREVO, he left Leningrad in 1990 to work in Prague, Amsterdam and Florence. DEREVO has been based in Dresden since 1996 and has been on the grounds of the Hellerau Festival Hall since 2003 . Adassinski acts as the artistic director of the group and appears in numerous productions as a dancer. He also launched the Festival Vertical , which focuses on the intercultural exchange between St. Petersburg and Dresden.

In 2000 Adassinski was seen as Drosselmeier in a production of the ballet Nutcracker at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.

In addition to his work in theater, dance and ballet, he has been in front of the camera for several films. He played in the Russian films Unikum (1983) and Just because of some lines (1985). In 2001 he directed his own script South. Limit with him as a performer. Alexander Sokurow brought Adassinsky on board as Mephisto in 2011 for his film Faust .

Awards

Adassinski received the Angel Award in 2006 at the Edinburgh Festival for his artistic work with DEREVO. In 2012, Adassinsky received the Russian Film Critics' Prize for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his role as Mephistopheles in Alexander Sokurov's film Faust . Adassinski was also awarded the Russian Nika Film Prize for best male leading actor in a Russian film ( Faust ).
