Anton Börsch

Franz Anton Carl Cäsar Börsch (* 1854 in Kassel , † 1920 in Bad Wildungen ) was a German astronomer and geodesist .

Life

Anton Börsch was the son of the mathematician and geodesist Otto Börsch (1817–1890). Anton Börsch studied at the Royal Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and after his doctorate he worked with Johann Jacob Baeyer from 1876 and later with Friedrich Robert Helmert at the Royal Prussian Geodetic Institute in Berlin (from 1892 Potsdam ), initially as Assistant, from 1887 as a staff member and from 1897 as head of department and professor.

In 1904 he was invited to speak at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Heidelberg .

On December 19, 1910, Anton Börsch was accepted as a member ( matriculation number 3325 ) in the Leopoldina .

Börsch was a member of the Astronomical Society .
