Anton Lorch

Anton Lorch (born June 6, 1910 , † October 22, 1984 in Neckarsulm ) was a German officer in the Wehrmacht and most recently a brigadier general in the Bundeswehr .

Life

Lorch served as an officer in World War II and was u. a. Deployed in various positions in the Mountain Rifle Regiment 138 of the 3rd Mountain Division , from October 1943 until the end of the war as a colonel and commander of the Mountain Rifle Regiment 144 also in the 3rd Mountain Division. In this position, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on June 4, 1944 . On November 5, 1942, Lorch was awarded the German Cross in Gold.

After the war, Lorch was taken over by the German Armed Forces and from the beginning of 1957 to 1961 he was in command of the Mountain Infantry Brigade 23, for which he was responsible. From December 1964 he was Brigadier General in command of the infantry school in Hammelburg . His successor from October 1966 was Karl-Reinhard von Schultzendorff . Until his retirement at the end of August 1966, he was still commander of the Hamburg combat troop school .
