Anton Mensching (pastor)

Anton Mensching (also: Anthon Mensching ; * 1641 in Apelern ; † November 4, 1686 in Hanover ) was a German Protestant pastor and author.

Life

Anton Mensching, born in 1641 in the former county of Schaumburg , was the son of Pastor Conrad Mensching, who worked in Apelern, and was the grandson of the theologian, university professor and Anton Mensching of the same name, who also worked in Apelern as a pastor .

Anton Mensching first worked as a preacher from 1668 in his hometown “Aplern”. In 1680 he became a preacher at the Aegidienkirche in Hanover, where he died around 6 years later in the middle of his fourth decade.

A funeral sermon for the general practitioner and city physician Christian Bußmann was received from Mensching in 1682 by the Princely Braunschweig-Lüneburg court printer Georg Friedrich Grimm .

An epitaph was installed on the wall of the Aegidienkirche for Mensching's son Gerhard Mensching († August 14, 1683 in Hanover) .
