Anton Philipp Ganzoni (born September 2, 1800 in Trieste , † July 27, 1881 in Celerina / Schlarigna , reformed , resident in Schlarigna) was a Swiss politician ( liberal / radical ).

Anton Philipp Ganzoni was born on September 2, 1800 in Trieste as the son of the merchant Anton A. Ganzoni and the Mengia born Griot. Ganzoni studied law in Berlin , with Friedrich Karl von Savigny , Göttingen and Paris . As a result, Ganzoni worked as a lawyer in Celerina.

Anton Philipp Ganzoni was married to Catherina, born Curtin. He died on July 27, 1881 at the age of 81 in Celerina / Schlarigna. His grave is in the cemetery of the Church of San Gian in Celerina / Schlarigna

Political career

The political career of Anton Philipp Ganzoni, the representative of the liberal-radical direction, began in 1834 with his election to the Grisons Grand Council , in which he was then repeatedly represented until 1861, including as President in 1844 and 1847 . Also in 1834 he was appointed delegate to the parliament of his canton. He then sat in the Small Council in 1836, 1842, 1844 and 1847 . In addition officiated Ganzoni as mayor of Celerina and as bailiff of the Upper Engadine . In addition, he took a seat on the Council of States for the canton from 1848 to 1852 .

In addition, Ganzoni worked in the cantonal appeal court from 1834 to 1854, before he held the office of cantonal judge until 1863. He was also a member of the professional ethics committee between 1839 and 1848, with interruptions.
