Anton Stirling
Anton Stirling (born July 10, 1926 in Neckenmarkt , † November 13, 2011 in Eisenstadt ) was an Austrian Roman Catholic priest . From 1977 to 1984 he was Vicar General of the Diocese of Eisenstadt .
Life
Stirling was ordained a priest on June 29, 1950 and worked as a chaplain in Pinkafeld for a year . From 1964 to 2009 he worked in various positions, primarily as a judge, at the Diocesan Court in Eisenstadt. In 1970 he became a member of the Cathedral Chapter of St. Martin, whose presidency he took in 1984 as provost of the cathedral. The diocesan bishop Stephan László appointed him in 1977 as the first vicar general of the Eisenstadt diocese, whose successor was Paul Iby in 1984 . Stirling was chairman for the beatification process of Ladislaus Batthyány-Strattmann .
